INDONESIAN

The person who is able to speak another language has many advantages.  Friendship is promoted through language and channels of communication are kept open between people of all backgrounds.

The students at Direk are encouraged, through active language learning to communicate effectively and to see the world from other points of view.  Students are introduced to Indonesia the country, the culture and customs and the language.  Children learn social greetings eg Selamat pagi (Good morning) and Selamat siang (Good afternoon), how to introduce themselves, names of family members, numbers 1 to 10 and Indonesian songs.
